Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

We built Energy Saving Desk to collect as little personal data as possible. There are no user accounts, no comments, no contact forms and no newsletter. This policy explains what little data is processed and why.

Who is responsible

The controller for this website is:

LiBrAi (eenmanszaak), operator of Energy Saving Desk
PriPost Box C1940
Segment 3
6921 RC Duiven
Netherlands
Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 42049145
Email: info@energysavingdesk.com

What we process and why

1. Technical data when you visit

When you open a page, your browser sends technical information to the web server, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. Our hosting provider processes this to deliver the page and to keep the server secure, for example against attacks, and may keep it in server log files for those purposes. We don’t use it to identify you or build profiles.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Our website software itself does not store visitors’ IP addresses.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We only use cookies that are needed for the site to work, unless you agree to more. Our cookie banner, provided by the Complianz plugin, asks for your consent before any optional cookies (such as statistics) are set, and stores your choice. You can change your choice at any time. Details are in our cookie policy.

Legal basis: necessary cookies: legitimate interest and Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive exemption; optional cookies: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

3. Site search

When you type in the search box, the words you type are sent to our server so it can suggest matching pages. Search terms are not stored by the site, beyond the hosting provider’s normal server logs described above. If you have accepted statistics cookies and we use an analytics tool, the search term may be counted there as part of usage statistics.

4. Calculators

Our calculators run in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored by us.

5. When you email us

If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply. We keep the conversation for as long as needed to deal with your question or correction and for normal business records, and then delete it.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or taking steps at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) if you contact us about working together.

6. Affiliate links

Some pages may contain links to retailers. If you click one, you leave our site, and the retailer or affiliate network may set its own cookies to record that you came from us. That processing is the responsibility of the retailer or network under its own privacy policy. We receive commission reports, but no information that identifies you.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • We don’t use embedded social media widgets or third-party comment systems.
  • Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page doesn’t send your IP address to a font provider.
  • We don’t knowingly collect data from children.

Processors and transfers

Our website and email are hosted by STRATO (Berlin, Germany), which processes data on our behalf as a processor under the GDPR. We don’t intentionally transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area. If a service we use in future does, we’ll name it here and explain the safeguards used.

How long data is kept

We keep personal data only for as long as it’s needed for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, business records under Dutch tax law).

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have similar rights to know, correct and delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them.

To use any of these rights, email info@energysavingdesk.com. We’ll respond within one month, as the GDPR requires.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). You can also contact the authority where you live, such as the ICO in the UK.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when the way we handle data changes, for example if we add an analytics tool or join an affiliate network. The date at the top shows the latest version.
